CD40配体是一种 II 型跨膜糖蛋白，属于肿瘤坏死因子（TNF）超家族（Quezada等）。CD40配体形成一种具有生物活性的同型三聚体，以可溶性和膜结合形式存在（Khanddekar等）。CD40配体在T细胞、单核细胞、嗜碱性细胞、嗜酸性细胞、血小板、树突状细胞和内皮细胞上表达。其受体CD40在B细胞、树突状细胞、巨噬细胞、单核细胞、血小板、内皮细胞和上皮细胞上表达（van Kooten & Banchereau）。CD40配体与CD40的结合可刺激B细胞增殖、免疫球蛋白类别转换、抗体分泌和T细胞依赖性体液反应。CD40配体失调会导致HIV和AIDS的免疫缺陷（Rickert等）。CD40配体也与动脉粥样硬化、动脉粥样硬化血栓形成和血管再狭窄的病理学有关（Hassan等）。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant CD40 Ligand was tested by its ability to induce bioluminescence in engineered CD40L bioassay cells. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the ligand at which bioluminescence is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the example above is ≤ 250 ng/mL. (B) 1 μg of Human Recombinant CD40 Ligand was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant CD40 Ligand has a predicted molecular mass of 16.3 kDa.
